Influencia de las aplicaciones basadas en inteligencia artificial en el desarrollo de las habilidades de expresión oral en inglés en estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera

Esta revisión sistemática de la literatura analizó la influencia de las aplicaciones basadas en inteligencia artificial en el desarrollo de las habilidades de expresión oral en inglés en estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera. Se revisaron 19 publicaciones científicas publicadas entre 2020 y 2026, seleccionadas en bases de datos académicas mediante las directrices PRISMA 2020. Los hallazgos se organizaron en cinco categorías temáticas: chatbots y asistentes conversacionales; reconocimiento automático del habla y pronunciación; fluidez, precisión y desempeño oral; motivación, ansiedad, autonomía y disposición para comunicarse; e integración pedagógica, oportunidades y limitaciones.
La evidencia revisada sugiere que las aplicaciones basadas en inteligencia artificial tienen potencial para fortalecer la pronunciación, la fluidez, el vocabulario, la precisión gramatical, la confianza, la autonomía y la disposición para comunicarse. La mayoría de los estudios reportó resultados generalmente favorables e identificó beneficios como retroalimentación inmediata, práctica oral repetida y oportunidades de aprendizaje personalizado. Sin embargo, los hallazgos fueron heterogéneos debido a las diferencias entre las herramientas de inteligencia artificial, los diseños de investigación, las poblaciones estudiadas, los niveles de dominio del inglés y la duración de las intervenciones. También se identificaron limitaciones relacionadas con respuestas inexactas, desigualdad en el acceso tecnológico, riesgos de privacidad y dependencia excesiva de sistemas automatizados. La revisión sugiere que la inteligencia artificial puede constituir un recurso complementario valioso para el desarrollo de la expresión oral en inglés cuando se integra con objetivos pedagógicos claros, orientación docente y actividades comunicativas auténticas.
