Impact of artificial intelligence on the efficiency of administrative decision-making in small and medium-sized enterprises

Artificial intelligence has become a relevant tool to improve the administrative processes of small and medium-sized companies, especially in contexts where it is necessary to respond quickly, reduce errors and use reliable information. The objective of this research was to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence on the efficiency of administrative decision-making in Ecuadorian MSMEs. A quantitative, applied, non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational study was carried out with a non-probabilistic sample of 50 companies belonging to the commercial, services, manufacturing and logistics sectors. The information was collected using a 20-item questionnaire with a Likert scale, validated by experts and with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.87. The results showed a high level of use of artificial intelligence, with an average of 3.56, and an overall administrative efficiency of 3.72. Spearman's correlation between both variables was 0.684, with a significance of less than 0.05, which evidenced a high and statistically significant positive relationship. The highest association was between process automation and speed of response, with a coefficient of 0.711. It is concluded that artificial intelligence favors administrative efficiency by improving access to information, streamlining processes, and strengthening the accuracy of decisions, although its effectiveness depends on training, data quality, and human supervision.
