Pedagogical model based on University Social Responsibility (USR) and competencies for universities in Bolivia

Bolivian higher education faces the challenge of overcoming traditional pedagogical models focused on the transmission of content to move towards approaches based on competencies, ethics and sustainability. The objective of the study was to design a pedagogical model for undergraduate studies based on University Social Responsibility (USR), articulating competency-based training, Service-Learning and curricular integration of the Sustainable Development Goals. The research was developed under a descriptive-analytical documentary review design, through a systematic search in indexed databases between 2015 and 2025, selecting scientific literature with thematic relevance and methodological rigor. The qualitative analysis allowed the identification of convergent trends related to strategic institutionalization of USR, evaluation by learning outcomes and transversal curricular sustainability. As a result, the "RSU-Competency" model was structured, composed of an ethical teleological axis, formal institutionalization of Service-Learning and comprehensive evaluation aimed at verifiable social impact. It is concluded that the convergence between social responsibility, competencies and sustainability configures an emerging paradigm of university governance that responds to the demands of the global and regional environment. The proposed model constitutes a contextualized tool to strengthen educational quality, employability and social commitment in Bolivian universities.
