Digital Preservation Policy

In order to ensure both the continued accessibility and long-term preservation of published content, Sage Sphere Higher Education adopts multiple digital preservation strategies:

Regular backups: Regular backups of journal files and servers are performed to prevent loss of information.

Constant updating of OJS software: The Open Journal Systems (OJS) system is continuously maintained and updated to avoid technological obsolescence, with plans for future migrations if necessary.

Assignment of DOI: Each article receives a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), guaranteeing its location and permanent access over time.

Storage in different formats: Articles are stored in different formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to facilitate access and possible future reuse.

Minimization of technological dependencies: Technical processes are documented in detail to ensure the autonomy and sustainability of the digital preservation system.

Active preservation: Techniques such as data rejuvenation, technology migrations, digital archeology and software preservation are applied to maintain long-term accessibility and functionality.

In addition, Sage Sphere Higher Education is a member of the Private LOCKSS Network (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and the Public Knowledge Project - Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative networks store content in a decentralized manner in partner libraries, which guarantees the recovery of information in the event of possible failures in the original servers.

These actions ensure that articles published in Sage Sphere Higher Education remain accessible, intact, and protected against data loss for an extended period of time.
