Abstract

In higher education, the learning of mathematics and physics must move beyond the memorization of formulas and the repetition of procedures, as both disciplines enable the understanding of phenomena, the organization of thought, and the reasoned resolution of problems. The objective of this research was to analyze the contribution of integrated mathematics and physics instruction to the development of logical thinking and problem-solving skills in university students, considering pedagogical strategies, teaching resources, and practical experiences. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, using Scopus, Web of Science, and SciELO databases. The final corpus consisted of 22 studies published between 2016 and 2026, all of which were conducted in higher education settings. The results showed that modeling, experimentation, simulation, and project-based learning were the most frequently used strategies. Furthermore, interdisciplinary integration fostered the understanding of abstract concepts, the interpretation of phenomena, and the reasoned application of knowledge. It was concluded that this approach strengthened students' logical thinking, active participation, and ability to address academic, everyday, and professional challenges.
