Author Guidelines

Journal of Multidisciplinary Novel Journeys & Explorations is a multidisciplinary open access scientific journal aimed at disseminating original and unpublished works that integrate scientific, technological, and social perspectives, with emphasis on their impact on education, innovation, development, and society.

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

Original Research Articles

These present original results derived from empirical, experimental, or theoretical research, constituting new, relevant, and verifiable contributions to scientific knowledge within a multidisciplinary scope.

They are based on primary data obtained through surveys, interviews, experiments, case analyses, theoretical models, or fieldwork.

Length: 3,000 to 6,500 words.

Mandatory structure: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.

Literature Review Articles

These consist of critical and interpretative analyses of relevant scientific literature on a specific topic from a multidisciplinary perspective.

Although a strictly systematic methodology is not required, manuscripts must include a clear description of the sources consulted and an argumentative approach that integrates, contrasts, and discusses the main theoretical and conceptual contributions.

Length: 3,500 to 7,500 words.

Suggested structure: Abstract, Introduction, Thematic Development, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.

Systematic Review Articles

These consist of a rigorous and methodologically structured synthesis of available scientific literature addressing a clearly defined research question, aimed at integrating evidence, identifying knowledge gaps, and generating relevant contributions to the field of study.

Manuscripts must obligatorily apply the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) and explicitly describe:

  • The databases consulted;

  • The search strategies employed;

  • The inclusion and exclusion criteria of studies;

  • The procedures for analysis and synthesis of information.

In addition, inclusion of a PRISMA flow diagram is mandatory. This may be generated using the PRISMA Flow Diagram Generator or an equivalent graphical tool.

(See example of a systematic review article published in the journal.)

Length: 3,500 to 5,500 words.

Mandatory structure: Abstract, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.

Essay Articles

These correspond to academic works of a reflective, critical, and argumentative nature in which the author develops a theoretical or interpretative position on issues, contemporary debates, or relevant conceptual approaches from a multidisciplinary perspective.

They do not present empirical results or systematic reviews; however, they must be grounded in relevant scientific literature, demonstrating conceptual rigor, argumentative coherence, and originality.

Length: 2,500 to 6,500 words.

Suggested structure: Abstract, Introduction, Argumentative Development, Discussion, Conclusions, and References.

Editorial Process and Peer Review

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous editorial process, including a preliminary review by the editor to verify alignment with the journal’s scope, academic language quality, textual coherence, clarity of tables and figures, compliance with ethical standards, and similarity or plagiarism detection.

Manuscripts that pass this stage are evaluated by external academic reviewers under a double-blind peer review system, ensuring confidentiality of both authors and reviewers.

Possible editorial decisions are: acceptance, acceptance with minor or major revisions, resubmission for further review, or rejection.
