Abstract

The study analyzes the historical reconstruction of the municipality of Challapata from a decolonial approach, considering the social, cultural, economic and political dimensions. The research arises in the face of the progressive loss of cultural identity and the disconnection between formal education and the collective memory of the community. A qualitative methodology of a community nature was used, based on oral history, dialogue of knowledge and triangulation of sources, including interviews, observation and documentary analysis. The results show that the processes of globalization, migration, and modernization have significantly affected the transmission of ancestral knowledge, especially in the younger generations. Likewise, a gap was identified between the educational curriculum and local history, which limits the development of contextualized education. However, spaces of cultural resistance are recognized through the work of wise men and community practices. It is concluded that historical reconstruction is a key strategy to strengthen cultural identity, promote critical thinking and articulate ancestral knowledge with the educational system, contributing to community development from an intercultural and decolonial perspective.
