Abstract

In the context of higher education increasingly focused on active learning and the practical application of knowledge, financial simulations are becoming established as valuable educational tolos. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of stock market simulation platforms as pedagogial instruments that allow students and professionals in the field of Business Administration to connect theoretical financial knowledge with its practical apllication in the stock market. A mixed-methods approach and action research design were use with a sample of 35 participants (students and professionals in the field of Business Administraction) selected through non-probability convenience sampling. During the intervention, participants used the Bolsa Virtual, Investopedia, and Wall Street Survivor platforms, engaging in practical investment simulation activities over four weeks in a virtual format. Pre-test and Post-test assessments were used to measure progress in three dimenion of financial learning: conceptual, procedural, and attitudinal. The results showed a significant increase in the participants´ academic and financial performance, confirming the effectiveness of stock market simulation as active and experiential pedagogical strategies. In short, the systematic implementation of stock market simulators in university and professional training represents an innovative educational approach that promotes autonomous learning, critical reflection and the effective integration of theory and practice, contributing to the development of key financial and analytical skills for professional practice in real-world financial contexts.
