Abstract

This study analyzes the application of Lean Manufacturing as a strategy aimed at optimizing production processes and improving business productivity in competitive organizational contexts. The research was developed through a systematic literature review, following the guidelines of the PRISMA 2020 methodology, in order to identify, select and analyze scientific studies published between 2010 and 2025 in indexed databases such as Scopus, Web of Science and ScienceDirect. The findings show that the implementation of Lean tools, including 5S, Kanban, SMED, Poka-Yoke and Kaizen, contributes significantly to the reduction of waste, reduction of non-productive times, improvement of workflow and strengthening of operational efficiency. Similarly, it was identified that the integration of Lean Manufacturing with Industry 4.0 technologies favors automation, real-time monitoring, process traceability, and data-based decision-making. It is concluded that Lean Manufacturing constitutes a comprehensive, flexible and sustainable methodology to promote continuous improvement, increase competitiveness and consolidate an organizational culture focused on quality and productivity.
